Preventive Medicine is the use of medical techniques and treatments intended to prevent disease before it happens, rather than curing it.

Prevention is based on early diagnosis, and requires preventive check-up with the necessary testing prescribed by the physician to assess the functioning of the vital organs and to identify possible early signs of a disease.

According to a World Health Organization study, in 2012, 56 million people died worldwide, of which 68% died of diseases that could have been prevented.

However, prevention is not limited to preventive check-ups. Diet, exercise and stress management play a key role in prevention.
